The Advent Joy Box

The Kindergarten class at St. Agatha's during December take turns taking home The Advent Joy box.  Today was Rowan's turn.  The box contains a purple tablecloth, a wreath, 4 advent candles, a nativity scene, a Christmas book, a journal, a camera, a CD with a Christmas song and some Christmas treats.  Rowan was so excited to get it home.  Sidney was very eager to help as well.  The idea is to take part as a family setting everything up, listening to the music and the story, eating the treats and then write in the journal and take a picture.  Rowan told Sidney all about how Jesus isn't a normal baby but a very special one.  The book in the box was called Mary's Happy Christmas Day and Sidney requested I read it over and over.  I did take a picture with the camera from the box of the kids with it all set up but then forget to take one with our camera.  I'm so grateful Rowan goes to a Catholic school and Christmas can be Christmas.  It was so nice to see the kids excited about something other than presents and Santa!
